Payments are processed as checks and mailed out bi-monthly. The two payment periods used for calculating your sales are based on shipped items during the 1st to the 15th of the month and the 16th to the end of the month. If you are not receiving payment, it could be for one of the following reasons:
1. TIN Failure
Payments could have been canceled and placed on hold because the legal name listed in the Maker account does not match the name associated with the tax ID on file with the IRS. Both need to match before a payment will be issued. Once the account is updated with the correct information, the funds will be paid out on the following bi-monthly payout.
What is a TIN?
Your TIN is your Taxpayer Identification Number. It is used by the IRS for tax identification and processing. The following numbers are all acceptable TINs:
- Social Security Number - SSN
- Employer Identification Number - EIN
- Individual Taxpayer Identification Number - ITIN
- Taxpayer Identification Number for Pending U.S. Adoptions - ATIN
- Preparer Taxpayer Identification Number - PTIN
2. Incorrect Address
Please make sure that you have your current mailing address up-to-date in your account. To do this, go to Payment Settings in the Account tab of your Maker account to review your settings. Please ensure that all of your information and details here are valid, current and accurate. Click 'Save Changes' when you are done. Once your details are correct, you will begin to receive payments.
3. No Products Shipped
Payments are only processed for orders that have been shipped. Therefore, you will only receive payment for the orders that have shipped either between the 1st to the 15th of the month, or the 16th to the end of the month.
